He hesitates a moment before sliding off to do the same. He's not quite ready to get fully dressed yet so he just tracks down his boxers and puts them back on for now. Should he kiss him now? Should he go brush his teeth first? He should definitely hit the bathroom before anything else though, he thinks.
"I'll be right back," he says quietly, gesturing toward the bathroom.
Wangji nods slightly before disappearing towards the kitchen, the sounds of him moving around there audible after a moment as he pulls out what he needs for their breakfast so he can start cooking.
Eggs for himself and Wei Ying, bacon for Wei Ying, toast, and some fruit. It's simple enough, anyway.
Once he's relieved himself and flushed, he stops at the mirror. After borrowing Lan Zhan's comb, he manages to tame his hair somewhat then he gets distracted by the bruises and bite marks on his neck reflected in the mirror. There's definitely quite a number of them, on his shoudlers and chest, too. There's a strange fluttering feeling of excitement in him as he tilts his head a bit here and there to get a better look at each one.
Wei Ying smiles softly. Lan Zhan really had gotten him good, hadn't he? For some reason, he likes it though, likes how tender the darker ones feel when he presses his finger against them. It's all very nice.
After a few minutes he fetches the spare toothbrush he left here the last time he stayed over out of a drawer and brushes his teeth. Once he's done, he heads out to join Lan Zhan in the kitchen.
He's just starting the eggs when Wei Ying comes in, glancing over his shoulder for a moment, gaze dropping to take in his neck. Focuses there briefly before.
Wei Ying hops up on the kitchen counter nearby, hugging one knee to his chest while letting the other dangle, swinging it back and forth idly while he waits. He smiles, content, then runs a hand through his hair, shaking it out a little before it settles back on his shoulders. It's very easy to see all the bite marks on his chest and legs from where he's perched.
"What's for breakfast, anyway? I bet it's delicious."
The eggs only take a few minutes to finish, Wangji splitting them onto the already prepared plates before he turns to just look at Wei Ying once the stove's off. His gaze travels over the other man slowly, lingering on each visible mark before he exhales a breath.
Wei Ying hops back down to the floor but doesn't immediately head over to the table. Instead, he stares at Lan Zhan's lips, cheeks flushing a little. The sudden need to kiss them is strong but he's not sure if he should. This whole boyfriend thing is still very new to him and he doesn't want to push too hard and too fast.
Finally, he settles on a chaste peck on Lan Zhan's cheek, maybe just a tad bit too close to the corner of his mouth.
"Okay."
He steps back and turns to leave for the table as instructed.
An arm wraps around him, pulls him back against Wangji's body before his other hand is on Wei Ying's chin, turning his head so he can catch Wei Ying in a proper kiss, his fingers smoothing down over Wei Ying's body slowly.
The snatch takes Wei Ying off guard, his eyes widening as he's suddenly pulled close and firmly held against Lan Zhan. Before he can fully process what's happening, he's being kissed.
Then he hears those words in his mind.
Lan Zhan hadn't said them back to him last night, though he'd kind of guessed his feelings were reciprocated by everything else he'd said and done. But actually hearing them makes his heart start pounding fiercely. He finds himself clinging hard to Lan Zhan, kissing him back deeply and passionately, breakfast forgotten for the moment.
Wei Ying's expression becomes soft and vulnerable. He tilts his head so Lan Zhan can get at his neck more easily while he caresses his back. Lan Zhan's loved him for that long? Two years?
He's about to ask Lan Zhan why didn't say anything when suddenly memories of all the times they've been intimate come flooding back. All those times they've kissed, made out, or fooled around where Lan Zhan kept uttering one word over and over.
Mine.
He really was dense, wasn't he?
"I didn't know," he stammers lamely. "I didn't realize you felt that way about me at all. I'm sorry I didn't see it sooner."
You weren't ready It's soft, the thought brushing against his mind, his hands dropping to pull Wei Ying closer, his mouth finding another spot on Wei Ying's neck, dragging his tongue over the mark there.
"They will," he promises, filled with a sweet heartache and longing he can't even begin to describe. It's so intense simply calling it 'love' doesn't feel adequate enough. "I'll make it up to you. I'll do better."
He's still not sure how ready he is for a serious relationship but he's willing to try for Lan Zhan. After last night, he's not sure he can put the lid back on his feelings. They've reached a point of no return. If this turns out badly, Wei Ying's not sure if or how they'd be able to go back to being friends afterward.
"Lan Zhan, after breakfast... Can we do it again? I want to do it again."
Technically, he has classes later today and he probably should go to them but right now, just staying in with Lan Zhan today is so much more appealing.
..Which parts? Because specifics tend to be important when it comes to Wei Ying, even as his hand drops, settles to cup Wei Ying as his mouth finds another spot on his neck, biting to mark him there.
They had done a lot and he'd enjoyed it all. Drawing it out like that had been exciting and intense, not being able to see or move, being bound and helpless while Lan Zhan had his way with him. His face is growing warm, his dick hardening at the memory. It'd all felt so good.
"I want you to tie me up, blindfold me, and fuck me senseless. Until I can't even think."
He'd loved it, loved him, loved close to him he'd felt during it and after.
"I just want to be with you like that again. I want us to make love. It felt really good. More than just physical."
Anything you want, Wei Ying. It's a promise, his hips shifting slightly to rub against Wei Ying, even if he lets him go after that, his hands back at his sides.
"But eat first." And then he'd prepare another session for Wei Ying. Breakfast would give him time to consider the best path to take.
Wei Ying brushes his lips softly against Lan Zhan's, restraining himself to keep the contact brief when everything inside of him just wants to let go. Finally, he steps back and walks over to the table, taking a seat and waits for his lover to join him.
Wangji joins him after a moment, brings the plates over and then tea for himself, juice for Wei Ying along with the vitamins and other medication he's supposed to take every morning. Then he settles to eat his own breakfast.
Wei Ying takes the medication and vitamins first, popping the handful of pills in his mouth and washing it down with juice. Once he's done that, he smiles at Lan Zhan, elbow on the table and cheek resting in his hand.
"You always take such good care of me," he comments, grateful and not for the first time.
It's not always necessary; he had, after all, survived off the grid and on his own for several years during his childhood. Still, it feels nice to be looked after. To have someone care if he takes his medication or eats proper breakfast. Most people don't really care if Wei Ying drinks liquor at breakfast and subsists on instant noodles, peanut butter sandwiches, and toaster pastries so long as he's not their problem to deal with anymore.
You deserve it He's eating his own meal slowly and methodically, his gaze on the food and not on Wei Ying, at least most of the time, his expression as calm as ever. Looking after him is something that was simple enough to adapt to his own routine, just adding to the normal things he did on a daily basis to make sure he had good food and was taking care of himself.
The drinking had been the biggest problem, beyond Wei Ying forgetting his medication regularly, but they'd fixed that.
Wei Ying's never been particularly stable or well. Losing his parents and the traumatic life he'd lived had taken a toll on him. His adoptive family had done what they could, he'd come to realize through counseling, though getting kicked out after his powers manifested had hurt. He'd already indulged in alcohol frequently; it'd only gotten worse when he'd been left on his own.
But Lan Zhan's been there for him for a long time and he's been a better person for it. It's no wonder that Wei Ying would start fallng for him somewhere along the line. People just don't really care about him, not to the extent Lan Zhan does.
He's fairly quiet while he eats, just focusing on the food itself and basking in the soothing company. Whenever he's around Lan Zhan, Wei Ying feels like he can actually breathe.
Once he finishes eating, he sits back just watching Lan Zhan expectantly.
He's aware of being watched but it doesn't affect his normal routine, collecting the dishes when they're both done to go clean up the kitchen and then he's heading into the bathroom to draw a bath. Wei Ying will get what he wants, but there's something else that needs to happen first.
Join me. It's not exactly a request, Wangji testing the water temperature as he waits for the tub to fill.
Wei Ying follows him into the bathroom. He glances between Lan Zhan and the tub curiously and smiles.
"Oh? You wanna bathe together first?"
He'd taken a shower just before bed himself but he doesn't mind starting out the day with a bath, too. It's a pretty romantic idea, he thinks, and one he's perfectly happy to indulge. Wei Ying hugs his lover from behind, nuzzling his shoulder a bit.
He turns, catching Wei Ying in a kiss, letting it turn demanding once the other man relaxes into his, one hand sliding into his hair. We have class later. And he has work to do before class, but this much, he can permit himself now.
And then he's turning to stop filling the tub, pulling away to settle in the water once he's undressed.
The kiss leaves his breathless, his heart racing. He knows Lan Zhan's right. They shouldn't miss class but oh, will concentrating on his lectures be difficult. He takes off his boxers, leaving them on the floor, and climbs into the tub with him, sitting down betweeen Lan Zhan's legs.
He settles back against Lan Zhan, head reclining against his shoulder. It's a new experience yet somehow it feels completely natural and ordinary, too. His eyes drift half-closed as he just rests.

Good. Because even though he'd said it last night, that had been while he was in the middle of what they'd been doing.
And now he'd at least had time to think about it.
Always have.
